Honda took the wraps off its all new 2018 Odyssey minivan at the Detroit auto show. Now the current Odyssey is already our top-rated minivan, so we were curious how hard it would improve upon the fifth generation of this vehicle, answer, more power, new transmissions, a new second-row seat and a whole bunch of Interior text to keep the family happy four long days on the road.
The new 3.5 liter v6 makes it even 280 horsepower up from the previous cars 248. Lower trims come with a new nine-speed automatic transmission. While top levels get 2018 Honda Odyssey first-ever 10-speed automatic unlike the Toyota sienna and it still has no plans to put all wheel drive on an Odyssey.

The second-row seats not only move forward and back, but take out the center section and the two outboard seats can also slide side to side. This allows easier access to the third row and this is an especially handy feature if you have a child seat installed in the second row. keep in mind the second-row seats still can’t magically fold into the floor, like the Chrysler Pacifica stolen go system. Got your hands full of groceries a foot activated power tailgate is available.
Nothing says parents like mini vans classic vehicle that’s just chock-full of practicalities that make family travel all the easier, and the redesigned Honda Odyssey 2018 here has plenty of tricks up its sleeve. So one familiar problem you got kids in car seats in the second row and you gotta get some adults into that third row, well a lot of automakers have devised ways to scoot the second row forward for third row axis, if there’s a forward-facing car seat. well what do you do when there’s a rearward facing car seat, on is devised this cool mechanism here you can slide the seat quite always inward and even slide it forward a little bit
like so and that allows quite a bit of 3rd row access as a bonus mom and dad can hand thanks to the kid to pacify him or her, because that seats that much closer to the front seats. another question, how do you see those kids, Honda has a conversation here like many vans and SUVs but can’t really see any kid in a rear-facing car seat, so you could buy one of those mirror things that kind of hangs over the seat, or 2018 Honda Odyssey gives you a feature here called Honda watch it’s actually a little camera that’s mounted here.
Near the rear entertainment system it looks straight down so you can see your kid pretty easily here, you can pinch to zoom in and it can stay there so you can even see their face, it’s also got an infrared camera so it can see them at night very cool, that’s just the tip of the iceberg we’re excited for this haunted to go on sale, sometime in spring of 2017 and parents, have never had it easier with cars like the Chrysler Pacifica and Kia Sedona, they’re all excellent minivans looks like on is going to bring some heat back to the game.
Something that bugged us about the last 2018 Odyssey was this complicated dual touch screen infotainment system, and has replaced it with a single, eight and setup its compatible with apple carplay and android auto. The driver can keep tabs on what the kids are up to in the second and third rows, via system called cabin talk which allows the driver to talk to them through the speakers, or via the rear headphones. There’s also a camera mounted in the roof so the driver can keep an eye on what’s going on view-able through the central display screen.
